The Summoning The Truth about Forever

Won:
Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry Trilogy, #1) by Simone Elkeles

Library:
The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima
Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle
The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong
The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen

I'm so glad I finally got Perfect Chemistry! I won it at Simone Elkeles's forum. She even signed it and gave me two bookmarks. Really cool! :D I haven't heard much about The Demon King. It's gotten a lot of high ratings on GoodReads though; I hope I like it. Decided to get Let It Snow because it's been on my TBR list for a few months now. I kept hearing how good the Darkest Powers series was, so I figured I should check it out as well. And finally, The Truth about Forever. It's actually going to be the first Sarah Dessen book I've ever read. ;)

The postcard traveled 15 days and 5,284 miles. I love nightviews, and this view is so so pretty! Russia has some really nice views. I hope to receive more from this country. Their stamps are pretty cool as well.

Flipped (2010)

Guess what I just found out? Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen is going to be released as movie! It's already been filmed, and the release date is September 17, 2010. I loved this book; it's really cute! I read it about 7 years ago (omg yes, I'm getting old!). If you haven't read Flipped, here's the summary from GoodReads:

"Juli Baker devoutly believes in three things: the sanctity of trees (especially her beloved sycamore), the wholesomeness of the eggs she collects from her backyard flock of chickens, and that someday she will kiss Bryce Loski. Ever since she saw Bryce's baby blues back in second grade, Juli has been smitten. Unfortunately, Bryce has never felt the same. Frankly, he thinks Juli Baker is a little weird--after all, what kind of freak raises chickens and sits in trees for fun? Then, in eighth grade, everything changes. Bryce begins to see that Juli's unusual interests and pride in her family are, well, kind of cool. And Juli starts to think that maybe Bryce's brilliant blue eyes are as empty as the rest of Bryce seems to be. After all, what kind of jerk doesn't care about other people's feelings about chickens and trees?"

Screenshot from the movie! Madeline Carroll will be playing Juli Baker, and Callan McAuliffe will be playing Byrce Loski. (lol @ Byrce's outfit) I'm really excited about this movie! Flipped was one of the few books I read and enjoyed during my high school years. (I was never in the mood for reading while in high school. Too stressed out.) So I can't wait! Hopefully the movie is good! :D

Knife Edge The Queen of Attolia The King of Attolia

Library:
Knife Edge (Noughts & Crosses, #2) by Malorie Blackman
The Queen of Attolia (The Queen's Thief, #2) by Megan Whalen Turner
The King of Attolia (The Queen's Thief, #3) by Megan Whalen Turner

Noughts & Crosses was an extremely sad book (just thinking about it makes me want to cry), but I loved it! So I had to get the next book in the series, Knife Edge. I also got the second and third books in The Queen's Thief series because I did enjoy the first book. I keep hearing that those two are even better than the first one, so I can't wait to get started. :)

Cover Love [1]

Cover Love is a weekly meme started by Linna at 21 ♥ Pages. I decided to participate in this meme because I love looking at awesome book covers. :) The covers I'm posting this week are covers that I've seen weeks (even months) ago, but they're some of my faves & I love to keep looking at them.

Knight Angels
Knight Angels: Book of Love by Abra Ebner

The Piper's Son
The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta

Tiger's Curse
Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

Aren't they awesome? All 3 of these books have already been released. (Although, The Piper's Son is only available in Australia, and it's highly likely that the cover will be different when it's released in the USA next year). All 3 of these books actually sound really good as well. I ordered Tiger's Curse a few days ago, and I plan on ordering Knight Angels soon. I'm sad that I have to wait for The Piper's Son, but I don't think I want to pay over $20, plus almost another $20 for shipping, just to read it, ya know? So I will wait. ;p

FI-783662

The front of the postcard.

I received a postcard from Finland! (FI-783662) Very pretty view! It's the 38th official postcard I've received from the Finland & the 211th official postcard I received through Postcrossing. The postcard traveled 4 days and 4,776 miles. Finland is actually the country that has sent the most postcards through Postcrossing. I think that's pretty amazing, considering it's a tiny country compared to the United States. The USA, which is the second most sending country, hasn't even come close to Finland. I don't know if another country will ever beat Finland.

The stamp that came with the postcard.

Isn't the stamp just awesome? I think the person who sent me this postcard actually put stickers on top of the onions; however, I have a feeling those stickers came with the stamps. Because Finland knows how to make unique stamps. They seriously have some of the best postal stamps out there. So many different designs and shapes. Have a look on Flickr.

Dani Noir Naughts & Crosses Vampire Academy

Library:
Dani Noir by Nova Ren Suma
Naughts & Crosses (Naughts & Crosses, #1) by Malorie Blackman
Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead

Checked out Dani Noir because I thought the cover was so cool, Naughts & Crosses because (even though it sounded really sad) the story sounded awesome, and Vampire Academy because I heard a lot of good things about it.

And this has nothing to do with books, but I also received some barcode stickers from BarcodeArt.com. I actually had no idea was going to get them. I guess I received them because I'm on the mailing list or something. The stickers are pretty cool though. If you don't know about the artist Scott Blake, he creates art using barcodes. Here's an example. Just zoom in and you'll see the barcodes. :)

Chapter 490

Nothing much happened with the pairings in the recent Naruto chapter (#490), but I did love this line:

"Then when I saw Pain attack Hinata,
I was so mad, so full of rage,
I let the Nine-Tails take over
without even thinking about it."

Naruto said that. He's talking to the frogs about Kyuubi. Explaining what happened and how he felt each time he lost control. This isn't the first time Naruto's thought about Hinata since the confession, but it's good to be reminded. ;p Also in the chapter, we see more Kabuto & Madara, Anko with others (including a Hyuuga) searching for Kabuto, and the Cloud village having a meeting. Killer Bee's clueless, but he's just awesome. hehe

The Body Finder If You Come Softly Perfect You

Library:
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson
Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott

I checked out The Body Finder because I was intrigued by the summary & heard good things about it. I found out about If You Come Softly through someone's blog (can't remember which blog). I really liked the summary for this one! Finally, I found out about Perfect You also from a blog (Alexa, who has the same name as me, at Not Enough Bookselves). :)
