When this post goes up on Saturday, I will be getting ready to go to the South Carolina Book Festival! I should be there around 3pm. I wanted to get there earlier, but it didn't work out. As long as I don't miss the Neal Shusterman panel, which starts at 4:10, I'm good. Neal Shusterman is the author of Unwind (one of my favorite books), and I can't wait to hear him talk about his books. I'm excited, and I know I won't be able to say anything to him because I'll be so nervous. Hopefully I manage to at least mumble a hello. LOL
Anyway, big huge THANKS to a book buddy for getting me a signed copy of Where She Went! How will I ever repay her? I loved this book so much! It's definitely at the top of my favorite books in 2011 list (along with Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning. I can't decide which one I loved more!) If you haven't read WSW, you need to! :D Another thanks goes out to author Cindy Pon! I won both her Kingdom of Xia books in a giveaway. I read Silver Phoenix back in 2009 and really enjoyed it. Very happy to own a copy and also a copy of Fury of the Phoenix, which I can't wait to read. :)
Another book I got was Looking for Alaska (bought the hardcover at Books a Million for only $3!). I've never read LFA before, but I enjoyed his other books, so I'm looking forward to it. And from book tours, Blood Magic and Burn Bright. Burn Bright is a debut YA book from Australia with an amazing cover. Already read & reviewed it. I plan on starting Blood Magic soon.
Whew! This post feels long. That's it for this week! Just a reminder to those with US addresses, I have a giveaway for Soul in Love by Vone Savan that ends on June 1. Click here to enter!
Blood Magic and Silver Phoenix look really good! Hope you enjoy the book festival! nice IMM :)
