He can protect her from everyone except himself.

Alana Gore is in danger. A take-no-prisoners publicist, her way with people has made her more than a few enemies over the years, but a creepy stalker is an entirely different matter. She needs a bodyguard, and the only man she can ask is not only ridiculously hot, but reputed to have taste for women that goes beyond adventurous.

Chandler Gamble has one rule: don't protect anyone you want to screw. But with Alana, he's caught between his job and his increasingly hard libido. On one hand, Alana needs his help. On the other, Chandler wants nothing more than to take the hot volcano of a woman in hand. To make her writhe in pleasure, until she's at his complete mercy.

She needs protection. He needs satisfaction. And the moment the line is crossed, all hell will break loose...

Reviews: Daimon & Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Daimon (Covenant, #0.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: April 19, 2011 / Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

It wouldn't feel right if I reviewed all the books (including the other novella) in the series and didn't also review the prequel Daimon. So here are my thoughts on Daimon after reading it back in July 2011:

I wanted to read Jennifer L. Armentrout's Covenant series because I loved the covers. I went into this prequel novella not knowing what to expect but hoping that I would find the story to be just as appealing as the covers. I'm glad to say that it was good. REALLY good.

Looks like book one, Half-Blood, starts off right where Daimon leaves off, so I highly recommend reading Daimon if you want to have an idea of what the Covenant series is going to be like and if you want a quick introduction to the heroine of the series Alexandria Andros. I think it's a great start, and I cannot wait to read more!

Sentinel (Covenant, #5)  by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: November 2, 2013 / Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

It's over. It almost feels like I'm dreaming. It's that surreal and bittersweet. Unlike the other books in the series, I savored Sentinel. I made sure I didn't read it all in one go because I didn't want the story to be over and I didn't want to let go of Alex and Aiden just yet.

Certain things that happened in the book were surprising, especially in the final chapters (I was crying, of course). But those moments led to an ending that was totally unexpected, yet utterly and completely satisfying. Sentinel is the type of conclusion I always hope for with series I read. It answered all my questions and didn't leave me feeling devastated. Even though I'm still going to miss Alex and Aiden so much, I'm happy with the conclusion they got. It was one that they both earned and deserved, and I get choked up just thinking about it. Seriously, I want to hug the author for writing an ending that left me content and smiling with tears in my eyes.

The Covenant series will always be one of my favorite series ever. I will never forget how addicting, funny, badass, and hot the entire series was. And I will never forget that it was the series that introduced me to the amazing story-telling of Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Release Day Launch: Bitter Sweet Love by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout's amazing novella in her new The Dark Elements Series, BITTER SWEET LOVE, is out and we are excited to join in the release day launch for it. BITTER SWEET LOVE is the Prequel Novella for The Dark Elements Series and is full of Wardens, fantasy, and romance. The first novel in the series, WHITE HOT KISS, will be released February 25, 2014. Check out what we have for you today! There's also a fantastic excerpt for you to check out below!

EXCERPT:
Moving lightning fast, Dez shifted and I was suddenly underneath him. His arms were on either side of my head, caging me in. Our bodies didn’t touch, but I felt him to the tips of my toes anyway.

The teasing grin disappeared when I dragged in a deep breath and my chest brushed his. Everything changed in an instant. The playful mood faded, replaced by primal heaviness. Our gazes collided and locked. Neither of us moved. His closeness sent a series of shivers skittering across my skin and made it hard to take slow, even breaths. My body tensed when his gaze dropped to my mouth.

He tilted his head to the side. “I… I honestly have no idea what we were talking about.”

“Good. Neither do I.”

He shifted his weight onto one arm, bring him closer. “Have you enjoyed your trip so far?”

“Yes.” I felt as if I couldn’t get enough air into my lungs.

“Good.” He lowered his head. His breath was minty as it moved across my cheek and then my lips. “I’m glad.”

I wasn’t really following the conversation and I wasn’t sure that he was fully aware of what was coming out of his mouth. I searched my hazy brain for something to say and wet my lips. I-

The sound that came out of Dez’s chest rumbled through me. A stuttered heartbeat passed and then his lips were on mine. There was nothing slow about this kiss. It scorched my skin and caused my body to stretch tight like a bowstring. The kiss deepened, spinning my senses. I shuddered when his hand curved over my shoulder and drifted down to my waist, his long fingers spreading out under the hem of my shirt, grazing the bare skin of my stomach.

I gasped, floored by the raw sensations pounding through my blood. My skin felt as if I was about to phase. Maybe I was.

“Jasmine,” he whispered, the word falling against my lips, and then his body was pressing mine into the mattress, heavy, sweet and hard.

ABOUT BITTER SWEET LOVE (The Dark Elements #0.5):

In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series The Dark Elements, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons.

Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining the balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.

And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again…

Don't miss White Hot Kiss, book one in Jennifer L. Armentrout's The Dark Elements series from Harlequin TEEN!

Review: Apollyon by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Apollyon (Covenant, #4)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 344
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: April 9, 2013
Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

My Thoughts: I cannot believe the end is almost here. Things are so close to coming full circle. Seeing as Apollyon is the second to last book in the Covenant series, I wish I could have taken my time reading it. But it's pretty much impossible for me to savor these books. I just can't read them fast enough, not when the story is utterly addicting and not when I'm desperate to know what happens next with Alex and Aiden.

What I loved the most about Apollyon is how it's Alex's story with Aiden right there at her side. That's what I've always wanted. Them working and being together without fear of the consequences. And if there's any two people who have proven they would do anything and everything for each other, it's Alex and Aiden. Out of all the characters, I believe they deserve their happy ending the most. They've come a long way and gone through so much that I don't see why they shouldn't have one.

Something I immediately noticed in this book was how much Alex and Aiden have grown. Aiden finally learns to forgive himself for what happened to his parents and Alex, to live in the moment and let loose. It was fun, refreshing, and cute to see him open up. Alex continues to mature more and more. She has patience and is no longer as reckless as she use to be. Without, of course, losing her snarky and outgoing personality. Alex also begins to realize that the war is way bigger than herself and that she can't do it alone. That's another reason why I'm glad Aiden is there for her. He keeps her focused and grounded. These two really do become stronger and better people when they're together.

Love is such an important theme in the series. The characters find hope and strength through love, so it would be wrong of me not to mention the romance that filled the pages of Apollyon. All the intimate moments (and there were TONS) between Alex and Aiden were extremely steamy and satisfying. My favorites were definitely the shower and spring scenes. I couldn't help but to grin like an idiot throughout the book. Really, could Aiden be any more sexy and perfect and wonderful? He had me swooning all over the place. I will be devastated and beyond heartbroken if Alex and Aiden don't get a happy ending together.

The ending of Apollyon wasn't a brutal cliffhanger like Deity. Praise Apollo! It left me feeling calm and hopeful. It's a relief to not feel like I'm going to suffer while waiting for the final book. But I admit, sometimes when I stop to think about what Alex is up against I begin to worry. How is this all really going to end for Alex and those important to her? How much will she be able to accomplish in one last book? Will it be enough? Like I said, I have hope. Deep down, though, I'm afraid. I need more reassurance. I don't think I will even try to predict what will happen next because I know I won't even be close. I'm just going to hold on tightly to the very last lines in Apollyon and pray that those words do come true.

Jennifer L. Armentrout truly has succeeded in keeping her readers guessing and on their toes. Apollyon didn't give us all the answers and might have even left us with more questions. It basically set up what is sure to be a stunning conclusion in the final book of the Covenant series. I'm dying to read Sentinel, but at the same time, thinking about never reading anything new about these characters again makes me want to tear up. But it just goes to show how amazing the story and the characters are if I'm wishing it would never end.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

*****

Maybe this is spoiler-y(Yes, I know that isn't a word). Especially for those who are just beginning the series. And excuse my excessive fangirling, but I wrote this a soon as I finished the book.

Deity was such a wild ride that I thought nothing could compare, but Jennifer just keeps surprising readers with more awesomeness. Elixir opened eyes and made me love Aiden all the more with his point of view, but it wasn't enough at the same time in all its short novella glory. It was to the point that I couldn't wait to get my hands on Apollyon that I prayed to any deity that would listen, tried to auction off my organs, and even offered my first born child- And oh my gods did it ever give me everything I was hoping for and more...

Firstly, let me tell you that there is nothing like being sucked into a world created by the one and only Jennifer L. Armentrout. The descriptions have you feeling as if you're right there and sometimes the very embodiment of the characters.

Ah, the Alex and Aiden moments were amazingly hot(even with all of Alexandria's smart ass comments that will constantly keep a smile on your face)! I don't think we should really call them moments since they were together the entire novel. I loved the fact that their romance stepped up before the series ends, but most of all the relationships grew with this installment of the story. Old enemies became friends, friends became closer, and family got to know each other better and come to new understandings.

The characters all experienced so much growth, hardships, and pain that it made them stronger, believable(even in a paranormal novel), and on so lovable. I can most likely count on one hand all the characters that I didn't like or more accurately put; those I loved to hate and they were all our villains- the ones we're suppose to hate(BUT NOT SETH).

OH TEH SETH!!! We learned things- lots of things, but never the whole story of Seth's past. I love that he shared his upbringing with Alex. He seriously opened himself up to her! I want more of that Seth.

I have so many feeling about this volume that I can't put them all into words or express them at all without spoiling the entire book. So I'll leave you with my final thoughts and some of my favorite quotes before I close this out.

JLA did an amazing thing when she acknowledged that homosexuality actually exist in the world.

Not only that, but two prominent side characters are in a homosexual relationship that is openly accepted- Viva la DEACON and LUKE Forever! Kudos to Jennifer for adding to young adult literature.

Favorite Quotes:

"Wasn't that a season finale on Supernatural?" When the boys nodded, my eyes rolled. "Seriously? Are Sam and Dean going to be there?"

"What is it with the St. Delphi brothers and their attraction to halfs?"

"No matter how convoluted my life got, one thing remained consistent- my hair looked like a baby opossum had taken refuge in it, invited some friends over, and thrown a party."

Review: Wait for You by J. Lynn

Title: Wait for You
Author: J. Lynn
Pages: 332
Publisher: J. Lynn
Release Date: February 26, 2013
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

My Thoughts: I was in a reading slump before I started Wait for You. I'm not surprised it helped me out of it because J. Lynn's (she's also known as Jennifer L. Armentrout) books always get me wanting to read. Wait for You is Lynn's first new adult novel, and I'm desperately hoping there's more to come. I LOVE all her stories, but I felt this one had the most depth to it than any of her others so far. It was such a sweet story about finding love and learning to trust and live again after a traumatic experience.

Drama is to be expected, considering what this book is about. But it's not overdone. It didn't cause me to want to roll my eyes or pull my hair out or even fling my device through the window. It was realistic and believable and everything that happened just flowed nicely, never rushed or drawn out. It made the book that much harder to put down and made me root for the characters even more through it all.

Avery has to be J. Lynn's most likeable and relatable female character. She's a smart, nice and great person. She was a loner for the past few years and not quite trusting of everyone, but she had her reasons for acting the way she did around people. She also made mistakes when it came to Cam and was able to admit it and apologize when she was in the wrong. It may have been a little frustrating because all I wanted was for them to be happy together, but it was understandable and never irritating. Avery reacted the way any normal person would in her position.

Cam is the type of male character everybody can't help but to fall in love with. He can't be boxed into one label. He's far from perfect (although that's debatable hehe), but he's no longer the bad boy he use to be. He's just a good person. He's patient and understanding, and along with his great sense of humor, he can also be pretty charming, hot, and confident. I'm so glad he could be all that and banter with Avery without being an overbearing jerk! Cam had an amazing personality, and it made him much more attractive in my eyes.

Avery and Cam's relationship was my favorite thing about the novel. They both opened up more around each other, and I believe they became better people because they had each other. They could joke around and have fun or have serious and thoughtful conversations. Not only that, they shared some very hot and intimate moments that had me swooning. J. Lynn is known for her romances that cause readers to fan themselves, but Wait for You took it to another level. Sex wasn't there just to add smut to the story though. All the scenes were well done and fit right into the story.

I finished Wait for You with a happy sigh. It is definitely one of the author's best love stories, and it had an ending that the characters greatly deserved. Everything that needed a resolution was given one. And I think it's awesome that the author gave it the potential for a companion novel or two but did it in a way that made it so that it's not necessarily required. Wait for You is a sweet, yet passionate story that I recommend to every fan of new adult books.

Series Review: Covenant by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: September 2011 / My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

AND THIS IS A DEBUT AUTHOR?!

I was completely and utterly blown away by this book. Everything about it was great; the pacing, character development, settling, atmosphere... Ms. Armentrout has a way with words that just can not be matched.

I love Alexandria Andros as our heroine. She's strong even through her weaknesses and her sarcastic, smart-ass mouth is hilarious. Her mindset is something to be revered. She's one bad-ass chick and girls always need someone to look up to. And the love interest, Aiden... For the love of daimon babies, that boy is hot.

I tend to shy away from things that people try to change when it's awesome all on its own, but Jennifer L. Armentrout has made me see the light. JLA took Greek Mythology and flipped it on its head as she twisted it and made it her own, and frankly I loved every minute of it. I'm so excited to see what she has in store for this series and any other upcoming works.

Pure (Covenant, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: March 2012 / My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Ever since my best friend, Aj started my obsession with Half-Blood, I've been one hooked fish; and that was just the beginning. Pure started off with a fight and keep me enthralled through out the story.

There is so much I want to say, but I can't with out spoiling the book! Alex is as strong as ever and the newest developments have me in desperate need of the next book in the series, Deity.

First of all, my heart was truly thrown into turmoil because Seth open up somewhat and we got to see the sweet side of who he could be(I'm rooting for this underdog). I totally fell in love. But there are storms brewing, especially with the things going on in Aiden's head and heart. I'm beyond confused now!

I cried. I laughed. I screamed. And I nearly had multiple strokes while hiding at my part-time job so I could sneak in some reading time. *wink wink*

An over all awesome read that I ate up and marinated on for days. If you haven't read a JLA book yet, you don't know what you're missing.

Deity (Covenant, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: November 2012 / My Rating: 5/5 stars (Can we make that a 10/5?)
** I received an ARC from the publisher

I'm trying my best, but this isn't going to be spoiler free. Mild spoilers ahead.

I have to start off with saying that Deity is the best book I've read by Jennifer L. Armentrout to date! It's that "Oh My GODS". Let's say it together now: OH... MY... GODS!

JLA opens Deity with a dream sequence which gave us a twisted flashback to Pure, then we're pretty much back to sharing a bed with Seth, Alex wanting him out of her bed, and all the things that she'd left behind during her trip to New York returning to haunt her.

And let me tell you that the 'Ish' hit the fan majorly.

Alexandria is feeling even more alone with Seth always lurking(I've given up on him now) and Marcus becoming even more creepy than usual. But we got what we had been begging for since the beginning of the series- Aiden St. Delphi, hotness galore. It's entirely too much to handle that the entire world implodes on itself.

Jennifer doesn't seem to know what she's doing to her loyal fan base, because my life completely stopped for the release of Deity. The wait until the next book is slowly killing me and I have no idea how I'm continuing on... The ending of Deity is more than anything anybody expected and I'm sure to hear the outrage and rioting fans soon.

I'm ready to read everyone else's opinions as soon as possible. I hope you ladies enjoy the ride as much as I did...

Reviews: Tempting the Player by J. Lynn & The Kissing Coach by Mimi Strong

Tempting the Player by J. Lynn
Release Date: October 23, 2012 / Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

These Gamble books are such fun reads! They do what they're suppose to do, keeping me entertained and causing me to fan myself over all the heat coming off the pages. I really loved Bridget and Chad's story even more than Madison and Chase's. It was hotter and steamier... Just the way I like it!

What I felt was a rushed ending in Tempting the Best Man was not the case at all for Tempting the Player! The story was longer and had what I thought was the right pacing for this story. I was truly satisified with everything, especially the ending. It's a wonderful addition to the Gamble Brothers trilogy, and I can't wait to read the final story about Chandler!

Really, there's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said, but definitely check out these books if you enjoy HOT contemporary romance.

The Kissing Coach by Mimi Strong
Release Date: December 24, 2012 / Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I have mixed feelings for The Kissing Coach. A few parts where actually pretty good, some were okay, but the rest for the most part left me feeling...disconnected.

I think overall this wasn't the type of story I enjoy reading. I never really warmed up to the main character Feather. She irritated me at times. I could not relate to her. Her past was the only aspect I thought was interesting about her. I found the love interest Devin to be a bit more likable, but like with Feather, he ended up frustrating me too.

While this story didn't impact me, it at least kept my interest enough that I was able to finish it. If you're curious about it, I would say go for it. It's a quick read.

Reviews: Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn & Body Heat by Susan Fox

Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn
Release Date: April 23, 2012 / Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

It's no surprise I found Tempting the Best Man to be enjoyable and addicting. Jennifer L. Armentrout (J. Lynn is her pen name for her adult novels) knows how to keep readers hooked. And she definitely knows how to make her stories scorching hot! I loved the hilarious banter and all the tension between Madison and Chase. They were great characters and made a perfect couple. I didn't want their story to end!

This actually would have been a perfect five stars for me if it weren't for the last bit. I know this story isn't as long as a regular novel, but I think the ending shouldn't have been rushed (at least it felt rushed to me). For the most part, this story had a good pace. But as soon as Madison and Chase did the deed...everything went faster. The conflict was resolved quickly. I wish it had been a little longer so the pacing and development wouldn't have had to speed up that much.

None of that overshadowed how fun and hot this book was though. I'm definitely looking forward to reading about the other Gamble brothers and more of J. Lynn's titles!

Body Heat by Susan Fox
Release Date: November 27, 2012 / Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Body Heat featured Maura Mahoney, a woman who has never had much excitement in her thirty years of life, and Jesse Blue, a handsome man who may just be a criminal. Maura and Jesse couldn't be more opposite, but for some reason, they are very attracted to one other. The entire book is about them denying their attraction and having sexy fantasies about each other.

Maura was a pretty frustrating character. She tended to make assumptions about Jesse without asking for the truth. Jesse did too to an extent, but I didn't feel he was nearly as judgmental as Maura. Although this book had its serious moments here and there, it was definitely more of a funny and romantic read. Maura and Jesse were constantly fantasizing about each other. They weren't sweet and cute fantasies either. They were pretty damn hot! I actually didn't mind all these fantasies at first; however, after a while, I think they were overdone. I understood these characters really wanted each other, so I just wanted some actual interaction between them. I wanted those fantasies to become a reality. It eventually happened, of course, but the wait was a bit too long.

Body Heat was filled with drama, sexual tension, and humorous moments. The concept wasn't groundbreaking, but if you're looking for a light and easy read, this book might just be for you.

Review: Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Elixir (Covenant, #3.5)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 80
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: November 27, 2012
Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

My Thoughts: Oh Aiden Aiden Aiden... I didn't need this novella to convince me that Aiden is amazing and badass and the one for Alex. Because I already knew all this the moment he stepped back into Alex's life in Half-Blood, the first novel in the series. But I did desperately need this novella for my much needed Aiden fix AND to calm my nerves after reading the epicness that was Deity, which by the way ended on a huge cliffhanger! You can read my review for that book here.

Elixir begins where Deity, the third novel in the Covenant series, ended. (So, if you haven't read Deity, DO NOT read Elixir! It's going to majorly spoil Deity for you, and I promise you wouldn't want that.) If Deity left you traumatized and dying for the fourth novel Apollyon, be sure to read Elixir. You'll find out exactly what happened after the closing scene in Deity. This novella may only be 80 pages long, but it's packed with everything you expect to find in a Jennifer L. Armentrout novel. Character development, surprising revelations, and of course, romance.

What makes Elixir even better is that ALL of it is from Aiden's POV. And if you haven't already realized, I think he's the best male character in the series, and he's also one of my favorite male characters ever. He's intense, sweet, protective, and sexy. Seriously, I love Aiden to pieces. There was a part in the novella where he spoke Greek and holy crap... I don't even know how to read or speak Greek, but when he spoke that language... I was swooning like crazy. SO FREAKING HOT. The scene where it occurred actually wasn't a happy moment for him though. Throughout Elixir, you can feel how heartbroken and desperate he was to save Alex. He really would do anything for her, even sacrificing himself. He continues proving himself again and again, and I hope he gets the ending he undoubtedly deserves.

Elixir is a must read for Covenant fans, especially Aiden fans! It eased the pain of waiting for Apollyon just a bit, and it left me even more curious about how things will work out in that novel. Hopefully all the Aiden action we got in Deity and this novella continues into the final books of the series because he is truly an amazing character and person. I can't get enough of him!

Find out just how much I loved it by reading my review below. At the very end of this post there's an international giveaway with awesome prizes being sent from Spencer Hill Press. Also, there's going to be a Deity Twitter Party on Nov. 2 at 8PM EST with the hashtag #DeityJLA. More info about that here.

Title: Deity (Covenant, #3)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 331
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: November 6, 2012
"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

My Thoughts: Every time I read a Jennifer L. Armentrout novel, I always become so absorbed and invested in the story. I feel like with each new book her stories keep getting more and more awesome and exciting! The third book in the Covenant series, Deity, is no exception, and it is by far my favorite out of all the books and novellas I've read by JLA. It was that good!

Since finishing, my emotions for Deity have been all over the place. Part of me is ecstatic, the other part is terrified. I don't know if I want to pass out and melt over some of the things that happened in this book... Or freak the hell out over some of the other things that happened. As I had hoped in my review for Pure, there were plenty of answers and revelations in Deity! Some confirmed suspicions I've had from the previous books. And some were completely unexpected and shocking. It felt non-stop, and all of it left me stunned and amazed.

I'm very impressed with how much Alex has grown and matured. She is such a wonderful character! Although her decisions might not always make everyone happy, I admire her for following her heart and doing what she feels is right. She is such a compassionate person and is just trying to do her best with what she has. I really feel for her because she has already gone through so much. It's pretty heartbreaking when all you want is happiness for the character, knowing there's still more they'll have to overcome. But I believe in Alex and know with her determination and strength and the support from other characters she'll make it through.

One of the major events in the book occurred at the end. I can't tell you what happened because obviously it would be a spoiler (and trust me, you do NOT want to be spoiled about anything). However, I will say that Deity ends with a cliffhanger, and it was...insane! This is what I thought when I finished: 'Shit just got real!' I didn't see it coming. But it pretty much explains everything that has helped lead up to that moment. There are times where I wonder if I'm freaking out about it way too much, and then I realize I can't help it with all the theories going through my mind. Besides, cliffhangers usually cause that type of reaction, so I'm going to continue biting my nails nervously and try to figure out what happens while I wait for the release of the next book.

I have to mention the romance before ending this review, since it plays a big role in the series and it's one of the things I looked forward to in Deity. The romance was definitely at the center of some of my favorite parts in the book. I don't like to sound cheesy, but honestly, I teared up at some moments because the romance was really really beautiful and passionate. My heart was close to bursting! And I do feel like I understand the love-triangle a lot more. I had already liked all the characters involved; Deity just made me appreciate them even more. There are huge surprises, and I understand why the things that occurred ended up happening. I'm dying to know how it will all work out because even without the romance, I really just want Alex, Aiden, and Seth to be happy by the end of the series. They all deserve it.

Deity was a stunning and heart-pounding installment in the Covenant series. It is the best and easily my favorite in the series so far. I have no idea how Jennifer L. Armentrout will top this book in Apollyon and Sentinel. All I know is that those last books are going to be completely epic and awesome too! And thankfully Aiden's novella Elixir will be released before then, and I'll be able to get my much needed JLA and Covenant fix. I cannot wait!
